Thomas Charles Payne, 73, passed away January 7, 2021 at his home in Sedan, Kansas after a brief battle with cancer. Tom was born February 16, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Thomas Edward Payne and Virginia Wanda Morgan Payne. He spent his youth on the family farm in Gardner, Kansas and helped his parents in the family floral business in Kansas City, Missouri.
Tom was a long distance runner in junior high and high school and continued his love for running throughout his life, running his first marathon when he was 50. He enjoyed a long career in banking, retiring from The First National Bank of Sedan in 2018. Tom is remembered for his unconditional love for his family and great respect for his fellow man.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Cloud Payne, of the home, daughters Kelley Kaiser, Cindy Neath and husband, Jim Neath, granddaughters Lyndsay McDowell and Zach of Bellevue, Nebraska, Sophie Bowman and husband, Spencer of Overland Park, Kansas, Rhiannon Neath and Madelyn Neath and four great grandchildren, Ayden, Macy, Elyse and Asher McDowell.

Cremation has taken place and services will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Tom’s name made be made to Harry Hynes Hospice and those remembrances may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
