Laurel Darlene Baker Null passed on to glory on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility (HCMCF), Hillsdale, MI. Laurel was born in Hillsdale on February 1, 1948, the eldest daughter of Ralph and Betty (Swope) Baker.

Laurel grew up on the family farm and graduated from Jonesville High School in 1966, where she was selected as the homecoming queen. Laurel graduated from Jackson Community College and worked there following her graduation. Following a catastrophic accident in 1981, Laurel made her home at HCMCF. She was expertly and tenderly cared for through many health trials, including recovery in the spring from COVID-19, by the wonderful staff at HCMCF. Laurel enjoyed dancing, crafting, reading, watching movies, the County Fair, and visiting with her friends.

Laurel was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Mark and Scott, and an older infant brother, Ralph. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Ellen Zienert and Linda Baker; her nieces and nephew, Brittany Baker, Breeanne (Wendell) Baker Swart, Samuel (Megan) Baker, and Emma Baker (Mario Carrill); her great-niece and nephews, Brooke and Nolan Swart, and Michael and Henry Baker. She is also survived by her aunt, Doris Pfau, many cousins, and her loving caregivers and friends, including Mary Jean Dulmage, and her young friend, Emma Faust.

Graveside services for Laurel Baker Null will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at Moscow Plains Cemetery with Rev. Ellen Zienert officiating. Masks and social distancing are required. Arrangements are entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville.
