David L. Farmer, 74, was at his residence when the Lord peacefully called him home, with his family by his side, on Monday, January 4th, 2021.

David was son to Greene and Mary Farmer and born in Harlan County, Kentucky but lived much of his life in Indiana.

This gentle, caring, loving and giving man has left a mark on all our hearts and will be supremely missed. David was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. David loved spending time with his grandkids and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. You hardly ever saw him without a cup of coffee in his hand. He enjoyed reminiscing about playing softball and hustling at the pool table. He loved his western shows and books, playing cards and going to bingo with his daughter April and granddaughter Conner.

He leaves the following family members to cherish his memory; son, Davey Farmer and wife Heather; daughter, April Dudon and husband John; grandchildren, Krea-cilla (Josh), Shay-Lynn (Jean), Brady, Tyler (Sara), Conner (Steven), Isaiah, Derek, and Laney Jo; great-grandchildren, Emma, Ayden, Arabella, Ashton, Elijah, Nicholas, and Grayson; sisters, Elizabeth and Cricket; brother, Harold.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia “Patsy” Farmer of 49 years, parents Greene and Mary Farmer, his brothers Clyde Farmer and Dude (Greene) Farmer, and in laws Homer and Betty Conner.

The family would like to thank IU Hospice, all the nurses and health care professionals, for their assistance in caring for David during the last few months.

At this time the family has chosen to not have an immediate service and will wait to have a celebration of life at a later date.
