Chris went to work at Stockgrowers State Bank in 1964 as a teller and machine operator. As a smart, energetic, personable woman, she advanced quickly to cashier, where she remained until retiring in 1993. In 1991, she joined the Board of Directors until her full retirement in 1999. She enjoyed her retirement by spending time with her family, camping buddies, church friends, and her pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Slade, son in law Richie, brothers, Roy and Harold, sister, Opal and their spouses.
She is survived by daughter, Cathy of Ashland, Kansas and son, Jay of Manhattan, Kansas, grandchildren Sarah and Bryce, great grandchildren Madalyn, Maverick and Molly, brother, Jimmy Hayden (Judy) of Abingdon, Virginia, many relatives and lifelong friends.
