He served in the Oklahoma National Guard and the infantry in the United States Army, was stationed in Japan during the Korean War, became a Sergeant by the age of 18 years old, and discharged as an E5. He managed the Hudson’s DX gas station and T.G.& Y. in Del City, OK and later retired from Tinker Air Force Base. He loved animals, raised English Bulldogs, and had many pets throughout his life, including, horses, birds, and fish. He felt very connected with animals and was a vegetarian for over half of his life. He also loved music, and would sing and play his piano or guitar, and listen to his favorite artist, Eddy Arnold. As a “health nut” he enjoyed boxing, weightlifting, and running.
He is survived by: his oldest daughter, Linda Dawn Bostwick of Moore, OK; his youngest daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Alexander Hudson and Paul Rodgers, of Oklahoma City, OK; his four grandchildren, Shawn Bostwick and his wife Thao, Eric Bostwick and his wife Jennifer, Kimberly Phelps and her husband Michael, and Lance Wilson; his five great-grandchildren, Brady Bostwick, Zoey Phelps, Brooks Bostwick, Chance Bostwick, and Rowan Bostwick; and his four siblings, Alyene Poe, Donald Hudson, Frances Reilly, and Richard Hudson.
He will be buried next to his wife and son. His graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 2pm at Sunny Lane Cemetery located at 4000 SE 29th St, Del City, OK 73115.
