Bernard was the son of John Franklin Young and Emily Rogers/Rodgers Young. He worked in the food industry from selling products to owning his own establishment. He had brown eyes and brown hair. Bernard married on 12 March 1913 in Jackson county, Oklahoma to Allie L. Davidson Childers. Allie was previously marries to Edward Childers and had two children: Edward Childers born 30 March 1896 and Oneita M. Childers born 31 July 1898. After Allie died Bernard married twice in Oklahoma City to Nellie Beatrice Busick Anderson (24 Dec 1939 and 15 Oct 1942). Nellie was the daughter of Jim Busick and Martha Raines Busick. She was previously married to Charles Chessly Anderson and had two children: Edwin Earl Anderson 1906-1962 and Agnes Evelyn Anderson Eddings 1909-1945. Nellie died in Marshall, Texas and is buried in Oklahoma in Sunny Lane Cemetery with her daughter.
