Charles "Charlie" Ray Hines Sr. went home to Jesus on December 28th, 2020 at the age of 88 years old. Charlie was born in Burlison, TN on July 21st, 1932 and graduated from Humes High School. He was the owner of Hines Machine Works until he retired in 2001. He was a former member of the Whitehaven Jaycees. He was a military veteran serving in the Tennessee Air National Guard.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband, dad, grandfather and many other titles he held, he loved traveling, camping, water skiing, and was a proud member of the DeSoto Shrine Club. He was devoted to loving his family, was good hearted, compassionate, entertaining, loved working in his yard, being at the beach, and helping others. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Olive Hines along with his six sisters in Heaven. He is survived by his wife Jean Hines, children, Carl Hines (Kelli), Charles "Charlie" Hines Jr. (Tina), Patrick "Pat" Patterson (Scotti), Michelle McIntyre (Tommy), nine grandchildren, David Hines (Tracy), Kelsey Mallett (Joshua), Darla Powell (Troy), Lucas Hines (Konstance), Ashley Whitehead, William "David" Patterson, William "Kirk" McIntyre, Haven Jennings (Brandon), and Tyler Patterson and twelve great grandchildren. A Committal Service will be held at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125 February 3rd, 2021 at 1:15pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Wahabi Shriners Transportation To Fund and mail to PO Box 511 Nesbit, MS 38651. The donations will be used for gas to transport children to the hospital.
