Patricia Bishop Obituary
Patricia C. Bishop, 98, of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Promedica Skilled Nursing Care and Rehab with her son by her side.
Patricia was born June 17, 1922, in Middletown, Ohio to the late Earl and Frances (Rossfeld) Tovatt. She grew up through the Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression of the 1930s. In 1940, she graduated from Monroe High School. Living through WWII, she met and married Everett M. Bishop, Jr. in 1943. Together they had one son, Gregory A. Bishop, in 1944. Sadly, Everett passed in 1945 after a battle with pneumonia.
She worked at Consolidated Paper and Oerther Brothers and then as a reading assistant at Monroe Elementary Schools, finally retiring at the age of 80 in 2002. Patricia was a member at First Presbyterian Church of Monroe.
Patricia is survived by her son, Gregory; two sisters in law, Sally Knitter of Ida and Karen Bishop of Pearland, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Patricia is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Tovatt.
In accordance with Patricia's wishes, cremation will take place and her cremains will be buried at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions in Patricia's honor may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Monroe.
