John Linus Wilcox, Jr., 73, of Rockport, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021, at his home. John was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 19, 1947, to the late John and Margaret (O'Bryan) Wilcox.
He was a graduate of Memorial High School. John honorably served two tours in Vietnam in the United States Navy. He owned and operated Wilcox Copier Sales and Service. John was very active in the Lions Club, he was a previous district governor and was currently serving as president of Rockport Lions Club. He enjoyed completing home improvement projects. John's grandchildren brought him much joy and he loved teasing and pestering them.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy (Mayer) Wilcox of Rockport, IN; daughters, Tammie Vittitow (Fred) of Dubois, IN and Tracy Hagan (Brandon) of Grandview, IN; sons, Jeff Wilcox of Cypress, TX and Jeremy Wilcox of Rockport, IN; sisters, Betty Pirnat (Danny) of Newburgh, IN, Annette Fehn (Chris) of Evansville, IN, Rosie Conner (Kyle) of Evansville, IN, and Sharon Baird (Danny) of Evansville, IN; brother, David Wilcox (Pam) of Santa Claus, IN; grandchildren, AB Jordan Vittitow (Alexia), Courtney Vittitow, Lela Denz, Frances Denz, Josh Wilcox, Jax Wilcox (Victoria), and Ciara Wilcox; and great-grandchildren, Emma, J.J., Elyse, and one due in the next month, Oliver Linus Wilcox.
John was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Susie Wilcox and Janie Wilcox; brothers, Wayne Wilcox and Jerry Wilcox.
