CALEB EVAN CALLAM

Calab Callam, who was taken ill at his home south of Pawnee City ten days ago, passed away at the Pawnee hospital Saturday, July 17. Mr. Callam has been a resident of this community for over half a century and had a large circle of friends who will mourn his death.
Funeral services were held at Wherry Bros. Chapel Monday afternoon, July 19, at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. M. W. Rose, pastor of the Methodist church, and interment was in the Evergreen cemetery south of Pawnee City.
Caleb Evan Callam was born near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England, January 20, 1868, and died July 17, 1926, leaveing to mourn his loss one sister and three brothers. 21 nephews and nieces, besides a number of great-nephews and great-nieces. He came to Pawnee City in 1872 with his parents when he was four years old. Caleb received his education in school district 5. Since then he had continously resided on the home farm for over 53 years. For many years he herded cattle on the prairie for his father.
