Jo Ann Hill, 81, of rural Nebo, IL passed away Tuesday (1-5-21) at her home surrounded by her family.
Jo Ann was born April 5, 1939 near Nebo, a daughter of Charles Vernon and Myrtle Eileen Freesmeyer Borrowman. She married Jerald A. Hill on June 9, 1955 in Louisiana, MO and he survives.
Jo Ann was a homemaker and farm wife and was well known as a seamstress. She had also been employed by the Pikeland School District as a bus driver for seventeen years. She also owned and operated the Town & Country Dress Shop in Pittsfield along with her daughter for ten years.
Jo Ann enjoyed mowing her yard, gardening and decorating her home and the homes of her friends.
She was a lifetime member of the Nebo Church of the Nazarene and had served as a church board member, Sunday School teacher, church secretary, pianist and organist.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Jerald A. Hill of rural Nebo, four children, Sherry (Steve) Putney of Lynchburg, VA, Patty (John) Curry of Griggsville, Darrell Hill of Nebo and Kevin (Kelly) Hill of Nebo, twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two brothers, Ed (Ruth Ann) Borrowman of Nebo and Ronald (Judy) Borrrowman of Nebo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
Private funeral services will be held Sunday (1-10-21) at the Nebo Church of the Nazarene conducted by Pastor Darin Workman. Public graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. If you plan on attending the graveside service, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
