Daniel Leroy “Boone” Allred, 74, of Richmond, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Daniel was born on October 31, 1946, in Richmond, the son of Walter W. “Putt” and Cleta Mae (Richardson) Allred. He was united in marriage to Martha Hall of Richmond on June 17, 1974; she preceded him in death on September 1, 1998.

Survivors include: son, Daniel (Marcie) Allred of Kingsville; four daughters: Danielle (Thomas) Wilson of Tulsa, OK, Melissa (Wayne) Blackburn of Suphar, OK, Bobbie Railey of Richmond, and Sandy (Rodney Dunwoodie) Peterson of Richmond; sister, Mary J. (Arnold) Ryun of Deep Water; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepdaughter, Samanatha Gates, granddaughter, Kalynn Dowdle, and brother, Charles Edward “Eddie” Allred.

Daniel was reared and educated in Ray County. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving in the Vietnam Conflict, aboard the U.S.S. Oriskany. Daniel liked bowling, crafts, and building wood projects. He enjoyed collecting tools, loved watching Westerns, listening to Country music, and watching the Chiefs play football. His friends and family will miss his witty personality and humorous comments.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in Woodland Cemetery, Richmond. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:15 P.M. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
