Age 84 of Durand passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (1106 S. Washington St., Owosso, MI). Due to COVID restrictions, the service will be for close family and friends.

Mary Ellen was born on September 7, 1936 to Dwight J. and Violet (Coreson) Dodds in North Branch, MI. She married John C. Hayden on June 11, 1955; they were married 50 years before he predeceased her in 2005.

Mary Ellen was a loving homemaker all her life. She enjoyed reading, and she loved her family more than anything.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Nurmi, Cindy (Jeff) Coote, and Sandra (Rex) Spoor; her daughter-in-law, Sherlie Hayden; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, John; her son, Keith J. Hayden; her granddaughter, Abigail; and her parents.
