Katrina Pitts Harrison, 84, passed away on January 4, 2021.
She was born in Portland, Florida on October 15, 1936 to James and Ola Crowder Pitts. She leaves behind two sons: Al (Ginger) Thomason of Pace, FL and LeeRoy Thomason of Pensacola, FL; one daughter, Teresa Thomason, one special granddaughter, Kelly (Anthony) Sanchez, both of Pensacola, her sisters: Hilda Pitts Turner of DeFuniak Springs, FL and Mavis Hensley of Bradenton, FL, a brother, Harvey (Marette) Pitts and her beloved poodle, Angel. Mrs. Harrison is predeceased by her loving husband, Merle "Harry" Harrison and her daughter, Reba "Bebe" Crider.
Katrina moved to Pensacola in 1991. She was a hairdresser for 35 years. Her first beauty shop was Katrina's Hair Center in Brewton, AL and she went on to own multiple beauty salons over the years.
In her younger years, she loved to go floundering with her sister, Hilda. She also enjoyed cake decorating, traveling, and spending time with all of her family. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music. She was baptized at 1st Baptist Church in Freeport, Florida. Her favorite song was "How Great Thou Art." Her favorite saying for troubled times was "Give it to God."
A service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021, followed by a visitation at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
