Mr. Leonard Charles Gibbs, age 81, of Shelbyville, passed away January 6, 2021.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 9, 2021 at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Brother Ron Adams will officiate, with burial to follow at Willow Mount Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 9, 2021, at the funeral home.
The family requests visitors to please wear masks and practice social distancing.
He was born March 30, 1939, in Shelbyville, to the late Orville L. Gibbs and Cardessie Mooneyham Gibbs.
He was a member of the bowling league at Eaton, an avid racing fan, and he loved farming, cutting hay, and raising cattle. He retired from the City of Shelbyville and Eaton Corporation after 31 years of service and was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Becky Gibbs in 1990, and his second wife, Joyce Gibbs.
He is survived by his four children, Jeff Gibbs, Lisa (Edward) Locke, Donald Gibbs, and Vicki (James) Dye; a brother, Bobby Joe (Lena) Gibbs; a sister, Gladys Stephens; grandchildren, Kenny (Rique) Vanderpool, Hunter Vanderpool, Becca (Rafael) Stacy, Hannah Baldwin, and Ryan Dye; great-grandchildren, Kira Vanderpool, Jaymez Pratt, Nichole Lopez, Marie Lopez, Jonathan Lopez.
