Johnnie Mae Scott, 64, of Midland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2020 in San Angelo. Johnnie Mae was born May 17, 1956 in Hereford, TX to Raymond Odell Samuels and Kathrine Jenkins Samuels. She grew up in Anson, Texas and graduated from Midland Lee High School. She continued her education at Midland College and became a certified medical assistant. Johnnie Mae married the love of her life Robert Lewis Scott on June 12, 1994 in Midland, Texas and they shared twenty-five beautiful years together and raised three children. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her Savior, her family, and her friends. Johnnie Mae was the matriarch of her family in the true sense of the word. Family and friends would come to her for inspiration, advice, and comfort in times of trouble. Playing the “Mama Bear” role she was not only protective, but precise in how she cared for others. She adored taking care of her grandchildren and also many other people in her lifetime, especially all of her family members in sickness or during their golden years. In her spare time, she enjoyed flipping houses, reading Christian literature and her bible, journaling in her diary and joking around with family and friends. Her great sense of nurturing others and her abundant love for the Lord, her family and her friends will remain in our hearts forever! She will dearly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Johnnie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert and three siblings, Dorothy Hunter, Odell Samuels, and Donald Ray Samuels. She is survived by her children, Jarvis Ingram and his wife Yvette Watson, of Midland, Kathrine Cantu and her husband Frankie, of San Angelo, and Marissa Carrasco and her husband Jeffrey, of Midland; 10 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; her Brothers, Raymond Odell Samuels, Willie Lee Samuels and his wife Wanda, and David Samuels and his wife Denise, all of Midland; her Sisters, JoAnn Ingram and her husband Wayne, of Midland, Loretta Samuels, of Dallas, Kathleen Bruce and her husband Kwami, of Austin and Denise Samuels, of Midland; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and close friends.
