York - Larry Carl Snyder, 85, died Thursday December 31, 2020 at Rest Haven in York, PA. He was a loving husband to Barbara A. (Landis) Snyder for 66 years.

Mr. Snyder was born December 21, 1935 in Shamokin, the son of Talbert Klinger and Elsie (Kimmel) Klinger. After his mother's premature death, he was adopted by the late Lambert K. and Hilda (Pennypacker) Snyder. He was a 1953 graduate of William Penn High School and was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Larry received his B.S. degree in education from Millersville, and his M.S. degree from Bucknell. He taught math at Spring Grove H.S. in York County, and at Randallstown H.S. and Hereford H.S., both in Maryland. After 36 years, he retired from teaching in 1994.

Mr. Snyder imbued a love of sports and music in his children. He was an avid softball and table tennis player, golfer and competitive bowler as well as a youth and high school baseball coach. He was a long-time member of the Prince Athletic Club and the South End Club. Larry was also a musician, and in his early years played with the band, The Crickets, and most recently was a member of the St. Matthew Orchestra.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Snyder is survived by his children: Sheryl Stottlemyer and her husband Barry; Randall L. Snyder and his wife Dorothy Potter Snyder; Lori Snyder and her husband Tom Miller; three grandchildren: Valerie, Logan and Nicholas; and 3 great-grandchildren. He had four siblings and is survived by sisters Allene Klinger Shadle and Ruth Klinger Goines. He was preceded in death by sister Treazure Klinger Eiffes, brother Arlen Klinger, and a son, Douglas A. Snyder.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., in East York is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17401.
