She was a member of St. Phillip A.M.E. Church, where she served as a stewardess and the kitchen aide committee. She was a graduate of Old Lincoln High School and received her cosmetology certification from the Florida A&M University Manpower program.
Survivors include one son, Tyrone Ray (Barbara); two sisters, Emily A. James (Wilson "Pete") and Dorothy A. McPherson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ray; a daughter, Tawanna Ray and a grandson, Austin Kyle Willacy Ray.
