Joseph C. Snodgrass Sr., 63, formerly of Monongahela, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at his home in Linesville, Pa.

He was born in New Eagle on Dec. 19, 1947, the son of the late Carl C. and Irene (Salaske) Snodgrass.

He was a 1965 graduate of Monongahela High School and a former employee of U.S. West. Joe was an active board member of the Linesville Community Public Library and member of the Black Ash Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the love of reading.

He is survived by his wife, Lily (Klug) Snodgrass; son, Joseph C. Snodgrass Jr. and wife, Amy; daughter, Jill (Snodgrass) Mascara and husband, Jon; brothers, Mark Snodgrass, Matthew Snodgrass; sister, Susan (Snodgrass) Dipaola; stepsiblings, Annette McPherson, Richard and Louis Mangino. Joe also had four grandchildren, Jacob and Megan Snodgrass, Matthew and Marky Mascara; as well as cherished sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Snodgrass.
