Valdean Harris Makin past peacefully through the veil on January 3, 2021. Valdean was born on October 8, 1938, in Richfield, Utah, the youngest child of Milo John and Clella Dean Norton Harris. Valdean spent her childhood in Junction, Utah, graduating from Piute High School.

She married Keith Lenard Makin on October 11, 1958, in Junction, Utah; they were later divorced. They were blessed with five children—Dennis Keith (Veloy) Makin, Michael Dean (Linda) Makin, Sheri Lynn Carter, Dale Roger Makin, and Cynthia Dawn Makin.

Valdean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary and Cub Scouts when her children were young. She completed beauty school and worked many years as a beautician including at salons at Mary Kawakami, Lindon Care Center, and Provo Care Center. Valdean cherished her dear friends and enjoyed going for drives and visiting with them.

Valdean is survived by her five children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by them and her many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Glen M. (Mary) Harris, and her sister, Nellie (John) Collings.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment at Lehi City Cemetery.
