In her 25-year career as a postal clerk, she came to know just about everyone in town who might not have otherwise known her. She always had a hot meal for a lonely hiker, and her home was open to anyone with a good heart, regardless of their circumstances. She cared for anyone who needed it, with love and understanding, and always without judgement.
In her spare time, Grandma Karen supported all the efforts of Big Pine Little League and all Warrior sports, driving thousands of miles and spending countless hours in tasks like mending the football teams's uniforms,. She was an ardent supporter of every civic activity in Big Pine, especially the Friends of the Library and the Volunteer Fire Department (to whom the family owes a special debt of thanks.)
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, "Papa Bob" Bradley; parents, Reuben and Sara "Hix" Rossi; brother, Gary Rossi; and sister-in-law, Andrita Rossi.
Grandma Karen is survived by her sons, Steve Bradley and Martin Bradley; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Jack Aldworth; daughter by love, Ychelle Tillemans; grandchildren, Bradley Barnum, Reuben Bradley, Kevin Barnum, Dustin Tillemans, Betty Jane Aldworth and Katharine Aldworth; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Myron Cinque; brother and sister-in-law, Burl and Barbara Rossi; numerous nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Big Pine Community United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Big Pine Cemetery. Remembrances may be made in the form desired. Donations in Karen's memory may be made to Pioneer Home Health Hospice of the Owens Valley or the Big Pine Volunteer Fire Department.
