William Fredrick Berger, 87, of Fruit Heights, Utah passed away peacefully with his family around him on Saturday, September 29, 2018. He was born May 29, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Fredrick Berger and Marian Roxy Hilpert. He married Sandra JoAn Servoss on September 2, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. After completing dental school at Northwestern in Chicago, Illinois, Bill and Sandy made their home in Orange County, California.

Bill put Sandy, his eternal companion and their eight children first before all other responsibilities in life. He loved his work as a dentist in Orange County for 40 years, until he was 75 years old.

Bill enjoyed many opportunities of service in the LDS Church, serving as ward and stake mutual superintendent, stake mission president, high counselor in three different stakes, and regional adviser to the evolving new young adult program in the Church. He served as bishop in three different wards, in the Mission Viejo Stake presidency, and in three full-time mission presidencies in the California Carlsbad Mission. He was also elected to the local school board two times.

Bill is survived by his wife Sandy, eight children; Bob (Wendy) Berger of Michigan, Sherry Coody of Orange County, California, Gary (Marcel) Berger of Farmington, Roger (Melissa) Berger of Layton, Cristy (AJ) Perkins of Orange County, California, Jon Berger of Orange County California, Jennifer (Al) Pimentel of Fruit Heights and Tiffany (Trent) Campbell of Salt Lake City, 28 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and sister, Nancy Swan of Murrieta, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert Berger of North Salt Lake and Ron Berger of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 901 S. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights, UT. There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Bountiful Cemetery.
