Barbara, 70, of Okemos died unexpectedly on the morning of December 27th. Barbara was born to Eunice and Willis Hammond.

After graduating high school, she attended the Jewett Career School in East Lansing, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Robert Simon, on September 26, 1970 in Binghamton, NY. After marrying Robert and starting her family she began a career with Meijer where she worked as a Team Leader for almost 30 years. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing, listening to country music and spending time with her family. Barbara was an exceptional wife and mother. Her absence will be forever felt.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Eunice and Willis Hammond.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband Robert Simon; son, William Simon; daughter, Leanne (Matthew) Thomas; grandchildren Harrison and Mabyn Thomas; sister, Linda Wilder; and brother, Grant Hammond.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration or locally to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
