Survivors include his son Morgan Lee Barnes (Tena), daughter Rebecca Jackson (David), brothers Herbert Nathaniel Barnes (Peggy) sister Carolyn Geneva Walker (James) and grandchildren Adam Jackson, Price Jackson, Kaylee Sides and Sarah Barnes and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred Morgan and Birdie Gentry Barnes, wife Linda Carolyn Britt Barnes and brothers Elvis Joel Barnes and Homer Carlton Barnes.
Mr. Barnes will be laid to rest by his wife Linda Carolyn Barnes at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Blountsville, AL.
Mr. Barnes was a member of the Mason's, Scottish Rite and National Defense Force. He enjoyed his Bible studies and loved to tinker with small engines, and working on cars.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in his memory to the Salvation Army.
