Ken was born September 19, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas to Robert and Arlene Grant. He moved with his family to California when he was 5 years of age. As a child he would return to Kansas in the summers to work on his grandfather’s farm along with his cousins.
He returned to Kansas to live and graduated from Mission Valley High School in Eskridge, Kansas in 1972. In 1983 he returned to California, settling with his family in Banning, where he lived until 1989. He then moved to Hemet where he lived until 2013 when he moved to Murrieta.
As a young adult Ken worked as a millworker, where one of his jobs was building of cabinetry for the Kansas State House in Topeka. He also worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. In 2017 he retired after working for 34 years for the Lake Hemet Municipal Water Department.
Ken enjoyed truck driving, sunsets at the beach and planting roses. He loved to cook for family and friends and had a special gift for taking care of people. He and his family made a trip to Kansas in July of 2020 where he was able to reconnect with family whom he hadn’t seen in many years. He especially enjoyed a gathering of family for a fireworks display on the 4th of July at his cousin’s farm.
Ken is survived by his wife Lorene, his children Ryan, Shayla Albini (Robert), Kassidy Perdue (Mark), McKenzie and Jacob, his stepchildren Heather and Steven (Amanda) and his loving grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Arlene and his first wife Linda.
Funeral services will be held on January 6, 2021 with burial at the Laurel Cemetery in Murrieta, California.
