It is with great sadness that the Schaefer family announces the death of William (Bill) Schaefer. He passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2020 at his home in Cypress, Texas.

Bill was born in upstate New York and moved to Texas at an early age. He was the second oldest of eight children, and the oldest son of William and Marie Schaefer. He was a true gentleman with a genuine loving spirit, he believed that your word was your word and you lived by your word. He enjoyed making people laugh, specially his grandchildren. He would be quick to say my children and grand-children are my greatest blessing. He believed that young people are our future; therefore, he unselfishly invested many hours / years mentoring and serving as a Scout Master for the San Jacinto Boy Scouts with his sons and served as President of Deepwater Softball League were his youngest daughter played softball. Bill was very gifted and talented when it came to music. As a young boy, he played the trombone for his high school band, filled in for a trombone player in the Shrine Circus, marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. As an adult and in his spare time he enjoyed DJing, taught himself to play the harmonica, and his latest goal was to learn to play his acoustic guitar.

In his early career he joined the Seafarers International Union (SIU) as an AB Seaman - U.S. Merchant Mariner sailing aboard on commercial containerships and tankers. His career path later lead him to the Construction Industry where he worked for 39 years as a Salesman for underground construction. Bill was a member of the Houston Contractor's Association (HCA) and American General Contractor Association (AGC). He enjoyed being a salesman and having the ability to get out of the office and take a more personal interest in his jobs / projects and the general contractors he served. Bill truly enjoyed what he did for a living.

His hobbies were hunting, fishing, golfing, watching baseball and football, playing cards, and traveling.
