Wayne H. Brown, 74, of Griffin, GA, passed away on January 5, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Griffin, GA and loved his community. He was the son of the late Leo and Evelyn Brown. He was a graduate of Griffin High School and Georgia Southwestern College. He retired from Southern Crescent College after 12 years as VP of Economic Development. Prior to that, he worked at Dundee Mills for 29 years.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Nancy Brown; children and their spouses: Lana & Kinny DeLay, Hal & Elizabeth Brown, and Will & Cindy Brown. He also leaves behind his grandkids: Caleb & Lydia DeLay, Garrett & Morgan Brown, Micah Brown, and Caleb, Josh, & Izzy Woodhams.

His Christian faith gave him a kind and humble spirit. His servant leadership touched countless lives. Wherever he went, he had a positive influence on others.

A celebration service is planned for Saturday, January 9th at 2pm at their residence. The service will be live-streamed by Crestview Baptist Church, crestviewbaptist.org. Wayne was a faithful member of Crestview Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and elder. Should you choose to attend the celebration service, it will be outside, and masks are required. Please plan to social distance.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Crestview Baptist Church’s building fund.
