Margie attended rural schools and high school in Keya Paha County. She married Cecil Williams on May 21, 1938, at Winner, SD. To this union three daughters were born, Mona, Merna & Margaret. They lived on various homesteads for eight years until they bought their ranch in Green Valley in 1945. They lived their entire lives there except for eight years when they lived in Springview where she served as County Treasurer for a number of years and became acquainted with two pranksters, Stan and Jet! They bought their retirement home in Springview in 1992 where she resided the next 19 years. During that time she had a lot of fun and laughs with her coffee friends, Ruth, Lucile and Maxine.
In 2011 Margie moved to O’Neill to be closer to her daughters. She had been living in the Good Samaritan Center in Atkinson since August 2018.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, parents, three sisters, Mildred Johnson, Lucile Luse and Lois Steinke; son-in-law, Bill Franklin and many other family members.
Survivors include daughters Mona Franklin of O’Neill; Merna and husband Rod of Sidney, NE; and Margaret and husband Glen of Atkinson; grandchildren Bruce Billings of Denver, CO; Amber & Jay Samuelson of Gretna, NE; Kirby & Debby Linse of Newport; Brendan and Kelly Linse of Plattsmouth and Kristy & James Lowry of Grand Island; 10 great grandchildren and 2 1/2 great-great granddaughters.
