Sandy Jane (Christensen) Johnson was born on March 2, 1957, in St. Peter, MN, the daughter of George and Marcelyn (Brakke) Christensen. Sandy began her education attending school in Cleveland, MN and following a move to the metro, graduated from Burnsville High School with the class of 1975. Sandy would go on to further her education attending college at Iowa Lakes Community College where she earned her Associate of Arts Degree in Computer Aided Design.

Sandy was united in marriage to Roger Johnson on November 22, 1975. To this union two children were born, Tina and Jeremiah. The couple later divorced, and Sandy was blessed to find love again when she met and married Brian Nutt on October 5, 2002, at the Eagles Club in Fairmont, MN.

Sandy worked for many years at Armour Foods and later blazed her own trail as one of the first female car saleswomen at Militello Motors. After earning her degree in Computer Aided Drafting, Sandy worked at TG Industries before stepping away from the work world where she enjoyed the opportunity to be a homemaker.

Sandy was a member of the Fairmont Eagles Club and believed in their motto of people helping people means helping the community. Her gratification in life came from helping others and the smile, hug, and knowing how special those she helped felt. Sandy loved listening to music and attending concerts. She was a devoted mother whose advice to her children was to “not live life with drama as life is too short. Keep it simple, learn to relax and take care of yourself first.” Sandy’s happy place was on Big Spirit Lake at her camper. She was blessed with a carefree attitude loved playing games and cards at the Senior Center and dancing like no one was looking. Sandy had no disappointments in life and felt blessed by god for men to love and two wonderful children. Her zest for life and free spirit will be greatly missed by all those that loved her.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Brian Nutt of Fairmont, MN; daughter, Tina (Alan Meyerdirk) Johnson of Fairmont, MN; mother, Macelyn Christensen of St. Peter, MN; siblings, Sharon (Bill) Watts of Shakopee, MN, Shirley (Dan) Nickel of Kasota, MN; steve Christensen of St. Peter, MN, and Scott (Jennifer) Christensen of Cleveland, MN; two nephews, Timothy Watts and Aaron (Caitlyn) Nickel; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, George Christensen; son, Jeremiah Johnson; aunts, uncles, and other extended family.
