Jerry Danner, 75, of Benton, Arkansas, was born in Prattsville, Arkansas, on January 6, 1945, to Maxine Cooper Simmons and John Danner. He attended Davis Creek Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Jackson. Seeking better employment, He moved to Michigan, where lived in various cities: Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Flint, and finally Detroit, where he joined 1st Missionary Baptist Church of Detroit. After retiring from Chrysler Dodge Automotive Plant in Detroit, he moved back home to Benton, Arkansas. In 1967 he married Charlene White of Benton. To this union five children were born.

Jerry was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents; son, Jerry Lashone Danner and grandson, Christopher D. Brown. He will be missed and remembered by his children: Regina Danner and Janice Danner both of Benton, Terry Danner (Ann) of Douglasville, Georgia and Renessa Sanders (Morris) of Jacksonville, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; aunts: Dorothy Robinson, Flossie Welch, Eloise Cooper and Georgia Green (John); 3 uncles, Gene Cooper (Nancy), Lewis Cooper and James Cooper; one sister, Jacqueline Simmons and a host of other family and friends.

There will be a walk-through visitation, at Brandon's Mortuary, in Malvern, Arkansas. His graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Philadelphia Cemetery, in Prattsville, Arkansas. Masks are required. All CDC guidelines will be followed. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs to the cemetery to ensure seating for everyone. There will be reserved seating for family.
