Ruby Newman Horn, 82, of Vinton, passed away on December 20, 2020.
She was born December 20, 1938, daughter of the late Joseph Harry and Eva Elizabeth Martin Newman. Also preceding her in death are two sisters, Bertha Morris and Deloris Newman.
Ruby was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, Virginia Western Community College, and Hollins College.
She enjoyed teaching at Roanoke County Public Schools.
She is survived by her brother, Leon Newman; her children, Michael Wayne Horn of China Grove, NC, Lynn Horn Browder (Ed), of Charlotte, NC, Susanne Horn Ensley of Stallings, NC and Lisa Horn Paloma (Doug Marburger), of Charlotte NC; grandchildren, Justin Browder (Sara), Cody Browder (Stephanie), Mallory Anderson (Mason), Leslie Savard (Alex) and Joseph Paloma; great-grandchildren, Blake Browder, Emilia Browder and Wesley Anderson.
A special thank you to her nieces Linda Lyle (Mike), Pam Chesser (Mark) and Andrea Whitlow (Randy), for helping at this difficult time.
