Christine Lee (Weltz) Long was born 19 Jan 1964 in New Martinsville, West Virginia, the daughter of Michael and Connie (Smith) Weltz. Christine graduated high school in Paden City, West Virginia in 1982. On 28 May 1987, she married Matthew Long at the United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dedicated to helping others from an early age, Christine decided to attend cosmetology school so that she could find work wherever the Air Force stationed the young couple. She lived to serve others, and the Lord granted her many opportunities to do so, for she and her family resided in nine different locations in the United States and abroad. A member of various churches of Christ, she taught Bible classes and loved to provide children with the understanding of the blessings found in Jesus Christ. Christine enjoyed singing, preparing meals, and visiting the sick and the elderly. She took great delight in traveling, designing home interiors, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her parents, her husband, one daughter, one son, two sisters, and one brother. Memorial contributions can be made to The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital at www.foundationbarnesjewish.org who stood out as professional, caring, and efficient in their seeking of treatment for Christine.
