Mrs. Helen Michels Romines, 81, was a lifelong resident of Houston. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Survivors: Sons, Joseph Clement Michels, Jr., and wife Mary of Bellaire, Texas, Robert Emmett Michels and wife Natalie of Houston; sister, Mrs Gertrude Hanssard of West University; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Rosary was recited on Tuesday at Forest Park Lawndale Chapel. Funeral Mass was on Wednesday, November 6, at Christ The King Catholic Church, followed by interment in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. The pallbearers were her grandsons. In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggested that contributions be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, Houston Chapter.
