Beatrice Price went to sleep with the Angels on Dec. 31, 2020, as a result of COVID-19.

A Dunkirk resident all her life, she was well known and had many dear friend in the area. Bea enjoyed working with children, and during her teen years, she was a playground supervisor for the Dunkirk City Recreation Department program.

She received her bachelor and masters degrees from Fredonia State Teachers College, and taught second grade in Forestville Elementary School from 1961 until her retirement in 2000. She was fondly remembered by many former students and their parents at her birthday and Christmas.

Besides her parents, Leon and Beatrice (Parlato) Price, she was predeceased by a brother, U.S. Navy Capt. (Ret) Oliver Price.

Survivors include two brothers: Dr. Robert (Joyce) Price of Boulder, Colo,, and Leon D. (Frances) Price of Dunkirk; six nieces, Leanne (Tom) Meyer, Laura Price, Jean (John) Mahaney, Janell (Steve) Herring, Twila (Marty) Schorsch, Susan (Andrew) Melanson; two nephews: Andrew (Carol) Price, Henry (Amy) Price; and a godchild, Michelle Ross (Monty) McAdoo; as well as several cousins.

Interment was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Fredonia.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beatrice N. Price Memorial Scholarship, c/o NCCF, 212 Lake Shore Drive West, Dunkirk, NY 14048.
