Janice Anne Wood, 47, of Dameron, MD passed away on December 30, 2020 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
She was born on March 16, 1973 in Leonardtown, MD to Charles Abell Wood and Carolyn Ann Trossbach Wood of Dameron, MD.
Janice is a 1991 graduate of Great Mills High School. In 1995, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance from Salisbury State University. She was employed as a skilled financial analyst at SERCO for many years. She had an affinity for the water and enjoyed going to the beach and boating with her nieces and nephews. Family was always a top priority for her and she loved spending time with all of them. Her other hobbies included hunting and playing Texas hold’em. She also loved her canine companion, her beautiful black lab, Wyatt.
She was a member and past president of the Ladies of Charity at St. Michael’s. She was president of The Archangel Scholarship Fund for St. Michael’s school and a lifelong member of St. Michael’s Church. She was the coordinator for the senior dinner held every December. She volunteered at the Ridge Volunteer Carnival every year.
In addition to her parents, Janice is also survived by her brother, Wayne Wood and his wife Teresa of Park Hall, MD; her nieces and nephews: Charles Raymond Wood, Alisha Christine Ashworth, Kevin Michael Wood, Richard Andrew Wood, Stephanie Jeannette Wood, and Veronica Denise Wood; her great nieces and nephews: Riley, Talon, Archer, Rykin, Raylan, John, Tessa and Bailey; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Robert (Bobby) Wood.
The family will receive friends for Janice’s Life Celebration on Thursday, January 7, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 16566 Three Notch Road, Ridge, MD 20680. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately by Reverend Peter Giovanoni.
Interment will also be private.
Serving as pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews: Chuck Wood, Christy Ashworth, Kevin Wood, Richard Wood, Jeannette Wood, and Denise Wood.
