Ron retired as a jailer for the Monroe County Sheriffs Department and was a proud member of the N.R.A. and the Indian Sheriffs Association.
Ron is survived by his mother, wife, Carol Lynn (Franklin) Carter, whom he married on October 31, 1970, children, Lynell (Donald) Carter, Rhonda Carter, Travis (Melissa) Carter, grandchildren, Jacob Ridge (Jamie Lone), Jessie Parrish, Kasie Ridge(Matthew Wright), Jared Parrish, Hailey Stewart, Jacob Parrish, Macey Parrish, Ashley Stewart, Marissa Carter (Devin Flick), T.J. Stewart, Nicole Ridge(Steven White), great-grandchildren, Braxton Lee Flick, Jace Allen Flick, Brooklyn Kaye, Jasper White, Gunner Wright, Sophia Wright, Malory Wright, siblings, Lester (Joni) Carter, Marty (Janet) Carter, brother-in-law, George Franklin, and several nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, and brother, Kenny Carter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 8, 2021 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer. Burial will follow in Salt Creek Cemetery in Monroe County.
Visitation is 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 7, 2021 and again, 12:00 PM until the time of service on Friday, at the funeral home.
