A Celebration of Life for Clara Correne Barnes, age 82, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Friday, January 8, 2021 with Rev. Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery . Clara was born December 14, 1938 in Fairview, Oklahoma to Leo and Goldie Bowers and passed away unexpectedly at her home on January 2, 2021.

Clara grew up in the farming community of Fairview, Oklahoma. She graduated high school at Longdale, Oklahoma and married Harvey Barnes on January 20, 1956. She became a homemaker and moved to the different Air Force bases Harvey was stationed at until 1964. After Harvey’s service in the Air Force they moved to Enid, Oklahoma, then to Jet, Oklahoma then eventually back to Enid.

Clara made sure her children were raised with Christian values through the Nazarene Church. She valued education and assisted her daughters to achieve higher education. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Harvey Barnes, her oldest daughter, Queta Henderson and her middle daughter, Tana Germundson. She leaves two grandchildren, Kyle Henderson and Kelli Henderson and four great-grandchildren. Clara is preceded in death by her parents, her youngest daughter, Lonna, three brothers and two sisters.
