From the Pomfret Vermont Historical Society, Town History:
Albert Snow born July 10, 1826 in Pomfret, married Laura Ann Daley on March 16, 1848 in Cambridge MA. He died May 6, 1908. His father was Ebenezer Snow married to Polly Hayes in 1809. There were many Snows in Pomfret, they had a store in town.

He moved to Wauconda, Illinois around 1859, then back to Vermont sometime after 1871. He served in the Civil War in the 134th IL INF and 147th IL INF.

In 1885 a group of Vermonters moved to Edmonds County, South Dakota. Albert was one of them, he was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic and went into the Veterans home in 1898. His daughter Flora Snow Fitzsimmons lived in Illinois so she was able to get him in a home in the Veterans home in Danville IL. In 1905, he returned to Hot Springs, SD.
