Lee Roy Griffin, 92, of Tuttle, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in Oklahoma City after a short illness. The son of Charles Henry Griffin and Clara Ellen (Moore) Griffin, he was born March 27, 1928, in Foyil, Oklahoma.

As a child he assisted his family working and living on a farm. Growing up, he and his siblings rode a cow to attend a one-room schoolhouse. He later married and had three boys. Lee Roy moved his family to Oklahoma City and eventually to Newcastle where he taught his boys to fish, hunt, drive trucks and tractors. One of his many hobbies included restoring old tractors. To provide for his family, he worked for Rocket Freight Lines in Oklahoma City as a truck driver where he earned many awards for his safe driving record. He and his wife parted ways and several years later he met and married Eunice Funk. They were married for 47 years before her death in 2018. After his retirement from truck driving, he became a full-time farmer where he grew and distributed okra and watermelons to local grocery stores. He then entered the wheat and hay business, doing the cutting, bailing, and selling. Lee Roy and his late wife, Eunice, always had garage sales and enjoyed the company of those that stopped by to shop and fellowship. He was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church and recently attended church with his new wife, Juanita, where they sometimes sang duets together on stage. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him

He was preceded in death by his parents: his wife, Eunice; brothers, Leslie, Berlie, Walter, Ray, Troy, and Junior; a sister, Ruth; his son, Jerry, and a stepdaughter, Susan McMakin.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Griffin; his two sons, Steve Griffin and Dennis Griffin; a sister, Retha Webber; a stepchildren, Ronnie Funk, Alvin Hobbs, Carla Thomas, Diana Morris, Michael Hobbs, and Martie Batt; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.
