In addition to his loving wife of thirty-three years, Michael is survived by his children, Da'Awn Smitherman and husband, Loy of Holly Spings, Mississippi, DeLynn Conlee and husband, Jeremy of Hernando, Mississippi, LaTrenda Griffin and husband, Eric of O'Fallon, Illinois, Andrew Meyer of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Josiah Brown of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Bryant Farmer of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Mashal Ferguson and husband, Leon of Mount Vernon, Illinois; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and brothers, Andrew X. Meyer, James Meyer, and Dennis Meyer.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis W. Meyer; nephew, Gregg Meyer; and mother-in-law, Jennell Currie.
Michael loved his wife, kids, and grandkids dearly. He was known for his silly jokes, friendliness, and he never met a stranger. Michael was always willing to help anyone he could and he will be dearly missed.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Victory Christian Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:30 pm with Pastor Scott Meyer officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Michael's honor to Victory Christian Church.
