Peggy Jo Evans was called home by the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2021. She was born December 27, 1949 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Doris Jean (Lamar) and Roy Melvin Peppers. She grew up and lived most of her life in Caddo County. Peggy attended grade school in Cyril, Jr. High in El Reno and graduated from Anadarko High School. She married Steve Evans on October 17, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Peggy was a teacher's aid at Sunset Elementary in Anadarko from 1973 - 1977. She was also a dispatcher for the Sheriff's Department and she and Steve owned and operated Ma & Pa's General Store, Pawn Shop and cafe.
She enjoyed arts & crafts, quilting, sewing, painting and reading. She loved to garden and pamper her flowers. Her greatest love though was her family. She loved her kids and adored her grandchildren and was looking forward to spoiling her first great granddaughter. Peggy spent many hours playing card games, board games and any goofy thing the grand kids could think of or want to do.
Peggy was a member of the Broxton Fire Department, the Wichita Tribe and attended the Methodist Church in Anadarko.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Steve of the home; daughter, Debbie Gutierrez & fiance, Dave Ervin of Moore; son, Damon Evans & wife, Kathy of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren: Ricardo & Ashlee Gutierrez of Hydro, Dane & Nikki Evans of Tulsa, Gabriela Renea Gutierrez of Oklahoma City, and Kacee Evans of Arlington, Texas; soon to be great granddaughter, Aniyah Gutierrez;
brother, Doyle McLemore of Anadarko; brother-in-law, John Evans of Anadarko along with other family members and a host of friends.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Moody.
