Annie Harlene Owen Taylor, 84, of Redfield, Arkansas received her angel wings and reunited with the love of her life, Sonny Taylor on January 1, 2021 in her home.

She was born on May 16, 1936 to the late Joseph “Poppa” Millard Owen and Charity Emiline Croy Owen in the Walnut Ridge Community of Grant County, Arkansas.

Annie loved God and believed in being faithful to God and trusting Him for her daily walk in life. She loved her church and remained faithful as long as she was able. She rarely missed any activities. She always loved and supported her pastor. Some of her favorite parts of church was her Bible Class, Senior Citizens and Game Night. She was a member of Orion Missionary Baptist Church since 1979.

She loved to sew, and make garments for her daughter, and granddaughters. She also made costumes for church. She was very creative and loved to decorate.

She loved music, play the piano and sing. When she was younger, she had an opportunity to perform with Myrtle Porter, Chestene Bruce, Elton Duncan and Pete Duncan on Channel 7 TV in Pine Bluff and the Barn Yard Frolick. One of her loves was to start the group “Joyful Noise” of Orion Church.

She has many special friends that spent time with her and helped her throughout the years. She was loved by many and influenced so many people. When she became unable to drive, her grandson (Gabe) became her caregiver and chauffier.

She loved her family unconditionally and often sacrificed for them.

Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, decorating her home and entertaining family and friends. She loved everyone gathering around singing Christmas carols especially “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas “Sonny” Taylor; son, Thomas “Tommy” Taylor, Jr.; dad, Joseph Owen; mother, Charity Croy Owen; brothers, Bobby Joe Owen and Albert Owen; sisters, Louise Owen, Juanita Andrews and Marie Ashley.

She is survived by a sister, Myrtle Porter of Hensley; son, Joseph (May Ellen) Taylor of Liberty, Ok; daughter, Sandra (Lonnie) Duncan of Redfield; grandchildren Charity Taylor, Bethandy (Joel) Ledbetter, Gabe Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Melanie (James Andrews) Farris, Alex Smith, Abbie Smith, Crystal Duncan, Damon Duncan, Nathan Duncan and Maddie (Les) Burrows; great grandchildren, Kyrie Mixon, Travis Gideon-Farris, Tyler Andrews, Samual Andrews, Jude Ledbetter, Greyson Strait, Kendra Duncan, Carson and Evan Murrows.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., January 9, 2021 at Orion Missionary Baptist Church in Redfield with Bro. Jim Easley, Ron Lewis and Ed Mohan officiating. Burial will follow at Orion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 -8:00 P.M. also at the church.

Pallbearers are Edgar Porter, Neal Porter, Eric Ware, Jeremy Rook, Gabe Taylor, Alex Smith and James Andrews.
