Obituary for Linda Montgomery
Linda Susan Montgomery was born January 25, 1950, in Tulsa, OK, to Gayle Clinton Lawson and Emilee Jean (Birkett) Lawson. She passed away on December 30, 2020 at Oxford Glen Memory Care in Owasso, OK, at the age of 70. Linda graduated from Union High School and received her Bachelors of Science in Education from NSU in 1972. She spent her entire 35 year teaching career in the Union Public Schools system, most of it at Boevers Elementary, teaching third grade. Linda loved teaching and spent countless hours planning activities to help her students learn the necessary content in fun ways. Many of her students returned years later to visit her. Linda loved gardening and collecting antiques. Most of all, she loved being with her family and her life-long school friends. She is survived by her son Thomas (Tommy) Montgomery, siblings Charlie Lawson, Billy and wife Janie Lawson, Julie and husband Jim Carlin, and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Dan Lawson, Mark Lawson, David Lawson and Cindy Threadgill. Burial will take place at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Broken Arrow. In light of health concerns, a remembrance of Linda’s life will take place at a future date. Please comment below (with contact info) if you would like to be notified of the date when it’s available. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to research on early-onset Alzheimer’s disease that the Lawson family is a part of.
