It was A Blessed Day in Heaven when God called Patricia Mae (Tharp) Craig home on December 31st, 2020. Born on August 7th, 1944 to Floyd James “Doc” and Laura Price Tharp,

Patty grew up near Mt. Olympus, Indiana with her four sisters: Joann, Mary, Amelia and Ruth and her two brothers: James Donel and Dean. She graduated from Mt. Olympus High School in 1963. In 1966, she married Ed Craig Jr. of Princeton. Ed and Patty resided in Princeton and raised two children, Laura Elaine and Edward Ray III. Patty enjoyed working in her garden and she always looked forward to putting up corn every summer. She above all loved spending time with her family and friends. She and her sisters wove many baskets together, played cards and enjoyed spending time together. She served as an officer of the Mt. Olympus Alumni Association, and truly enjoyed putting on the Annual Alumni Dinner. Patty was a member of Patoka United Methodist Church and was a faithful servant of God. She loved volunteering her time at church by serving on the Administrative Council, acting as sanctuary steward, making apple butter, and serving dinners. She enjoyed attending special events at Gentle Shepherd Church of God in Oatsville. Patty was love and showed love to everyone around her. She loved to read, write, and most of all spend time with her grandchildren who called her Mamaw. The joy brought into her life by Abby, Ben, Eddie IV, Maddie, Lydon and Jada could not be matched. Patty loved life with everything she had, was always quick to offer a helping hand and gave all Glory to God. There will never be another like her, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. To God be the Glory for a life so beautifully lived.

Patty is survived by her husband Ed Craig Jr., children Laura (Chris) Heidenreich, Edward Ray Craig III (Andrea Dotson), grandchildren Abby and Ben Heidenreich, Eddie IV and Maddie Craig, Lydon Dotson, and Jada Graves, sister Mary (Tharp) Case, brother James Donel (Peggy) Tharp, sister-in-law Judy (Wolfe) Tharp and special friends Janice (Riney) Hunn, Julie (Enlow) Craig, and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Waiting with open arms in Heaven are Patty’s sisters Joann (Wheeler) Dunning, Amelia (Tharp) Adams, Ruth (Tharp) Hall, brother Dean Tharp, parents Floyd James “Doc” and Laura Tharp, and many special friends.

Patty’s family would like to thank all of those who have reached out in love and prayer during their time of need, your generosity has been so appreciated. The family would also like to show the utmost gratitude and appreciation for the doctors, nurses and caregivers at St. Vincent Hospital COVID-ICU.

A celebration of life will be held by the family later in 2021. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton with Rev. Kenny Armitage and Rev. Greg Davis officiating. Burial will follow.
