Mr. Roger L. Cameron, 55 of Galesburg, passed away unexpectantly at 1:56 a.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center Emergency Room in Galesburg.
He was born December 27, 1965 in Avon, the son of Roger F. and Jeanette A. (Herrold) Cameron. He married Lori A. Fitchpatrick on August 14, 1993 in Galesburg.
Roger is survived by his wife, Lori; one son, Kody L. (and fiancé Lisa Moylan) Cameron of Galesburg; one daughter, Andrea Cameron of Peoria; one grandson, Alastor Cameron; two sisters, Diana (and Brian Ellis) Shinn of Abingdon and Charlene Luker; and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He grew up in Abingdon and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1986. He later graduated from Carl Sandburg College in 1990 with a General Education Degree and in 2003 with a Computer Networking Degree. He worked at Blick Art Supplies in Galesburg since 2001. He loved to play video games, work on cars, and play golf. He was also an assistant Boy Scout Leader for Troop #220 in Knoxville.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited occupancy. A private family service will be held Thursday with Rev. Harold Berrian officiating.
