Shirley M. Richardson, 80 of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at her residence. She was born on April 11, 1940 in Springfield to Lee and Daisy (Brown) Range. She married Stephen L. Richardson, Sr. on April 15, 1974 and he preceded her in death on October 30, 2014.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; one son, Ron Range; two brothers, Forrest and Clifford Range, and two sisters, Florene Bowers and Ilene Tarter.

Shirley is survived by one daughter, Suzette (husband, Dave) Fahrenbacher of Springfield; two sons, Steve Richardson, Jr. of Springfield and Randall (husband, Ted) Payton of Hillsboro, MO; six grandchildren, Holly, Dwight, Skye, Paris, David, and Kit; and four great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Feitshans High School and retired from the State of Illinois, Department of Public Aid. She loved her cats, scratch-offs, BINGO and enjoyed her shopping sprees.

Private graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Michael Koschmann officiating.
