Helen Pennington, 69, passed away at home on December 29, 2020 of pneumonia. She was the wife of Richard Pennington. They shared 39 ears of marriage together. Born in Phoenix, AZ, she was the daughter of Jose Gastelum and Guadalupe Salazar. She attended Carl Hayden High School and was later employed at U-Haul for 41 years. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and she enjoyed shopping, feeding her family, and going to the casino. She will be remembered for her laughter, cleanliness, and amazing cooking. Helen is survived by her husband Richard and her children Raymond, Milida, Marion, and Renaldo. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 8:00 to 11:45 am at Hansen Mortuary (8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix, AZ 85020).
