Obituary for Jack Lee Hill
Jack L. Hill of Sand Springs, Oklahoma passed away September 2, 2020. He was 88 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Hill, sister-In-Law Gayle Zimmerman, brother-In-Law Don Zimmerman, daughter Kristi Hill, grandchildren Jeremy Edwards and Brandice Edwards, and great grandson Jace Phillips.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Tracie Hill.

He grew up in Tulsa and after high school, joined the Marine Corps. He served in Korea as part of the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines and was a survivor of the Chosin Reservoir (The Frozen Chosin). He earned two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star and served his country as the proud Marine that he was.

After the Corps he worked as an ambulance driver for Fitzgerald's Funeral Home until joining the Tulsa Police Department in 1958. During his time on the force he served in the Detective Division, was instrumental in creating the Internal Affairs Division and retired as the Major of the Special Investigations Division. He served honorably for 30 years with the Tulsa Police.

Jack was a great family man, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family hunting, fishing, and camping. As a professional flight instructor, he loved taking his family on outings in airplanes as often as he could. There was no person he loved more than his beloved wife Dianne. They had a wonderful marriage of 62 years. He led by example in every aspect of his life and he will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tulsa Police Fallen Officers Memorial Fund.
