Jason Christopher Beard, 40, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away after his battle with cancer, on December 23, 2020, in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Orange, Texas to Marion “Bubba” Beard and Paula Jones Ferguson, Jason grew up to be the embodiment of a southern gentleman. He attended Coahoma High School and graduated from Lamar University. Jason was a member of the Exxon-Mobile family. To his friends and colleagues at Exxon-Mobile, Jason was diligent and hardworking.

In his personal life, Jason was an avid hunter and family man that enjoyed volunteering as a coach, treasurer, and grounds keeper for his kids’ soccer league. He was generous with his time and love. Jason had the ability to make everyone’s day better. He was a dedicated husband, attentive father, and beloved son, who always thought about his loved ones first. To his family, Jason was the light that brightened their lives. He was grounded in his Christian faith and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Lorie Beard, of Lumberton, Texas, his three children, Britton Beard, Hadley Beard, and Autumn Beard, his mother, Paula Ferguson, of Lumberton, Texas, his father and stepmother, Marion “Bubba” Beard and Sandra Beard of Granbury, Texas, his sister Courtney Phernetton and her husband Jeff of Big Spring, Texas, nieces and nephews, Berkley, Peyton, and Landri Phernetton, and his three step-children.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jones, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Davis, and his aunt, Patricia Hargett.

Funeral services will be not be held due to COVID-19, but the family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
