Carol A. Oliver, 83, passed away in Marion General Hospital on December 26, 2020. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on October 12, 1937 to the late Milo C. and Sophia F. (Malek) Nelson.
Carol was a graduate of East High School in Madison and later came to Marion with her family. She owned and operated Oliver Tax service for the past 55 years serving Grant County clients with their annual tax preparation. In her free time Carol enjoyed bowling, traveling to see her sisters and cheering for the Green Bay Packers, but she especially loved attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Her grandchildren fondly called her “Moo Moo” and spending as much time with them as possible was always her priority.
Carol is survived by her children, Carol A. Meese and Christopher (Cara) Oliver, both of Marion; Christina M. Oliver, Marietta, Georgia; sisters, Patricia (Darrell) Hauge, Sun City, Arizona; Deborah Piper, Madison, Wisconsin; grandchldren, Nicholas Trout, Lauren (Curtis) Holcom, Kennedy Crandell, Luke Oliver and Caleb Oliver; two great-granddaughters, Mira Holcom and Remi Holcom; niece, Stacy (Patrick) Donlan, Texas; nephew, Brian (Susan) Hauge, Florida; long time friends, Jan Lankenau and Ruth Ann Oliver. She is also preceded in death by her son, Dan E. Oliver, Jr.; sister, Elizabeth Nelson; brothers-in-laws, David Piper and Mark Nelson;
Visitation was held on on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion. In keeping with Carol’s wishes there was no funeral service following the visitation.
